The meeting, which will be attended by all five BJP chief ministers, Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Sushil Modi, key party leaders from Punjab and leaders of opposition from other states, will focus on the steps taken by the BJP-ruled states to mitigate the adverse impact of economic downturn and monsoonal deficit.

The BJP will also compare the way the economic situation was handled in the states ruled by the party with the achievements of the central government.

Announcing the meeting Thursday, party leader Yashwant Sinha said the country was suffering due to "crony capitalism and the return of license and quota raj".

The main opposition party will also discuss "discrimination" faced by it and the BJP alliance-ruled states.

The meet also attempts to show a united picture of the BJP.
