Attack on Nitish’s carcade: Khagaria court orders attachment of property of 22

Patna,(BiharTimes): Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) of Khagaria, Triloki Nath Tripathi, on Tuesday issued an order for attachment of property of 22 absconders accused of attacking Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s carcade during Adhikar Yatra in the town on September 27 last.

The court order came on the request of the special investigation team (SIT) probing the incident.

Among those against whom the property attachment order was issued were the Khagaria district president of youth RJD, Chandan Yadav and his LJP counterpart, Sushant Yadav.

On September 27 a group of people, said to be para-teachers, had demonstrated during the chief minister's 'Adhikar rally' at Khagaria and had also pelted stones on the his carcade. In fact the chief minister had to face such a situation in most of the places where he went during the Adhikar Yatra.

The SIT had registered FIR against 70 people in the case and had moved the court with a request for property attachment of the absconders who are not cooperating with the investigation.

Incidentally, no action has been taken against Ranvir Yadav, the husband of local Janata Dal (United) MLA, Poonam Devi, who snatched a policeman’s gun to open fire in the air when the people were protesting against the chief minister. Nitish Kumar, in fact, publicly complimented Ranvir for saving him. His remarks were shown by various national and regional television channels then.
