Patna,(BiharTimes): Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday once again sought reduction in the number of centrally-sponsored schemes, which are planned by the Union government for the states.
 | Talking to newsmen he said one size of shoe cannot fit everyone. Every state has its own requirements and necessities and the schemes should be launched in accordance with the requirements of a state. Incidentally, he raised the issue on the eve of his meeting with Union Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh on Tuesday. He said he would put forth his views during discussions with him.
Nitish said the states should be given freedom to launch schemes in keeping with the requirements and necessities.

He alleged that Bihar was not receiving electricity from the central quota. The state government wanted to set up new thermal power plants and revive power plants but it is unfortunate that the Centre is not cooperating with it, he charged.
