Patna,(BiharTimes): Another lady Superintendent of Police has been caught on the wrong foot in Bihar. After Araria SP, Garima Malik’s infamous role in the killing of four persons, including a pregnant woman and an infant in Bhajanpura village under Forbesganj sub-division of the district, the City SP of Patna, Kim, shot into limelight for all the wrong reasons. | On Monday evening two youths got electrocuted near Tewary-Bechar in Kankarbagh. It was a total case of negligence on the part of civic authorities and power board. So the reaction of the people was natural. As if that was not enough. Local people alleged that the SHO of the local police station and some of the policemen who came to the spot initially were drunk. This resulted in a protest by the local people, who gathered in a large number, at the spot. They blocked the road causing traffic jam. Upon this arrived the lady SP of Patna, Kim, with a posse of police force. In the forefront of the agitation were the women too, some of them wailing over the tragic death of their dear ones. The SP indulged into an altercation with an elderly woman over the removal of jam. Moments later the lady SP slapped one of the women on the face, not once but twice. This woman was taken aback by the public humiliation and returned a slap on the SP’s face. Soon the police swung into action and assaulted those who were spearheading the road blockade.   Later the lady SP, while talking to mediapersons, underplayed the whole event and said that cases would be lodged against all those responsible. Meanwhile, the RJD MP, Ram Kripal Yadav, sought immediate action against the drunk policemen as well as the SP, who slapped the woman.    comments... |
