JD (U) MLA Lesi seeks Bharat Ratna for Nitish, Siddiqui says why not for Karpoori

Patna,(BiharTimes): Ruling Janata Dal (United) MLA, Lessi Singh, on Wednesday demanded that the Centre must honour Chief Minister Nitish Kumar with Bharat Ratna for his charismatic leadership and for empowering women of Bihar.

 

Participating in the two-hour debate on Governor Devanand Konwar’s address to the joint sitting of both the Houses of the state legislature the JD(U) MLA from Dhamdaha said the chief minister did remarkable works to ensure unprecedented development in the state.

However, while taking part in the debate the leader of opposition, Abdul Bari Siddiqui, strongly objected to any such demand. He said “how can we forget the role of Karpoori Thakur. In fact the demand should be made to honour him with Bharat Ratna.”
