RJD stages walk out over Modi’s statement on Katju

Patna,(BiharTimes): Three days after Justice Markandey Katju’s remarks on Press Censorship in Bihar both the Houses of the Assembly witnessed uproarious scene on Monday with opposition RJD staging a walk out in protest against the deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi’s demand that the Press Council of India chief should be removed.

Supporting the issue raised by the Chairman of the Press Council of India opposition members started raising slogans ever since the House assembled for the day on Monday morning. Slogans like Nitish-Modi Hai Hai rent the air. The Question Hour was badly disrupted due to their protest. Some of them were even heard of demanding a CBI probe into the Press Censorship in the state. They alleged that the practice of using advertisements as a carrot is very dangerous. As all this was going-on deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi told the House that the Centre should consider whether to continue with the Press Council of India chief who always remain in controversies. Speaking in the presence of chief minister Nitish Kumar the deputy chief minister said Katju is in the habit of making controversial remarks to hog the headlines. The Centre should consider as to whether it wants to continue a person holding such a high position who has been always involved in making controversial remarks. This angered the opposition members. Leader of Opposition Abdul Bari Siddiqui strongly criticized Modi for his remarks.

Reacting to Siddiqui Parliamentary Affairs minister Vijendra Prasad Yadav said that Katju had not made any comment and had simply spoken about constitution of a committee to probe the feedback he had received. Everybody knows here that the state government had not brought any Bill or legislation to gag the media. Modi said that he had just asked that a person holding such a high position should refrain from making controversial remarks.Siddiqui then said that all the RJD MLAs, are walking out of the House in protest against Modi’s statement. In the Council too RJD members demanded discussion. Ghulam Ghouse said that the issue is serious and should be debated. But the chairman Tarakant Jha rejected the demand.

Ganga Prasad, the deputy chairman, said that no discussion could take place on anyone’s statement.Meanwhile, RJD has announced that it would burn the effigy of the state government in protest against the Press censorship in Bihar.

Sushil Kumar Modi follows his master's Voice

The BJP and it's allies rigorously coached by their Zionist masters in Tel Aviv are fully aware of the fact that news specially television news and analysis exert a powerful influence on public perception. And to keep people darkened from the truth of this regime It is necessary to manipulate the press in order to shape public understanding in favor. There is no greater power today than that wielded by the manipulators of public opinion. The mass media has formed the image of Nitish's government and continues to make over this all-positive and flawless good governance image being heavily financed by the rulers. What we know about this government is via our daily newspapers, our weekly magazines, our radio and our television.Justice Markandey Katju wanted us to know what is not told about this regime in the corporate media. He simply spoke for the freedom of press in Bihar. How could Sushil Modi , a warrior against the truth, have swallowed this open challenge to his media dictatorship? I have repeatedly written about the sinister media design through which the current government has maintained its control over the throne. The truth has finally been discovered by none other than the chairman of the press council of India himself. With the myth of the phony good governance exploded one can expect more skeleton from Modi's cupboard to fall quicker than ever. The ideological occupation of the state media by this regime must be challenged and defeated at every level.Every institutional structure set up by this regime to control the minds of innocent Biharis must be exposed and democratized.Any story written in favor of this regime must be taken with a pinch of salt.Do not forget that the mass media in Bihar is still highjacked and Justice Katju has only launched the first salvo.
