Criminals loot Rs 3.80 lakh from liquor shop owner

Patna,(BiharTimes): Three motorcycle-borne criminals snatched Rs 3.80 lakh from a liquor shop owner near Bahadur Bridge just after mid-noon in Patna on Friday.
The criminals followed Jitendra Kumar from ICICI Bank in Rajednra Nagar, fired at him and fled with his two-wheeler as well as the withdrawn cash kept in its luggage box.

They spotted the liquor shop owner after he withdrew Rs 3.80 lakh from a bank and kept it in his two-wheeler’s luggage box. They followed him to his shop. As he down from his two-wheeler, the trio demanded key of his bike. When he refused, one of the criminals fired at Jitendra.

Though the fire narrowly missed him Jitendra slumped to the ground out of fear. Upon this two of the three criminals snatched his bike’s key and fled on it towards the Agamkuan area of Patna City. The other criminal fled in the same direction sitting on his own motorcycle. Jeetendra is the owner of New Paimana Wine Shop under Bahadurpur Bridge.

The daring daylight robbery followed dacoity in the house of an accountant of postal department in Hardinge Road on Thursday night.

The accountant, Satyanand, has recently been transferred to Dibrugarh, and his elderly mother and wife were still here. The dacoits decamped with ornaments worth over Rs three lakh, besides, other goods. They thrashed both the women when they resisted. They were locked in the bathroom. The bathroom was opened only after the milkman arrived in the morning and heard their shout for help.
