AKU set to take maiden exam of medical, engg students

Patna,(BiharTimes): Aryabhat Knowledge University has geared up hold its maiden state-level medical and engineering examinations of over 2,800 students from January 16.

About 700 of them are students of six medical colleges while the rest of engineering and other technical institutes.
According to AKU Vice Chancellor S N Guha the examinations would be held at seven centres, including two in Patna and one each at Purnia, Gaya, Bhagalpur, Darbhanga and Muzaffarpur. At Patna, the examinations would be held at J D Women's College and Arvind Mahila College from 11 AM to 2 PM.

The teachers of local institutions would work as invigilators, but a team of observers consisting of senior teachers and government officials from Patna would visit all the centres to ensure fair conduct of examinations.

Apart from this, resource persons would be deputed at all the centres to explain to the centre superintendents the modalities of examinations and writing the computerized answer-books.

Guha said that evaluation of answer scripts would go on side by side with the examinations so that the results of all the examinations are published at the earliest. Special examinations were being planned for the institutions having delayed sessions and gradually, the sessions of all the technical institutions would be regularized.

It needs to be recalled that all the 13 government medical and engineering colleges of the state have been brought under the umbrella of AKU. The engineering colleges now under AKU are Bhagalpur College of Engineering-Bhagalpur, Nalanda College of Engineering, Chandi in Nalanda district, Motihari College of Engineering in Motihari, Gaya College of Engineering-Gaya, Darbhanga College of Engineering, Darbhanga, Loknayak Jayaprakash Institute of Technology, Chhapra, and Muzaffarpur Institute of Technology, Muzaffarpur.

The medical colleges that have been brought under the administrative control of AKU are Patna based Patna Medical College and Nalanda Medical College, Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College, Gaya, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Bhagalpur, Darbhanga Medical College, Darbhanga and Shri Krishna Medical College, Muzaffarpur. Bihar College of Pharmacy has also been affiliated to AKU.

Besides, at least five private technical institutions have been affiliated to AKU. They include Vidya Dan College of Technology and Management, Dumraon in Buxar district, Vidya Vihar Institute of Technology, Purnia, Architecture College, Jamalpur, Nursing College, Kurji (Patna) and Netaji Subhash Institute of Technology, Bihta.
