Patna, July 2 (IANS) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Monday said that his stand against the central government's decision to dissolve the Bihar assembly in 2005 was vindicated by former president A.P.J. Abdul Kalam in his latest book.
Nitish Kumar had protested against the imposition of president's rule in 2005, calling it unconstitutional and undemocratic.

"My stand was vindicated by then president Kalam in his latest book - Turning Points: A Journey Through Challenges. He was unhappy with the centre's decision," Nitish Kumar said.
In a veiled reference to his main political rival and Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad, the chief minister said it was known to all that who put pressure on the central government to dissolve the Bihar assembly and impose president's rule. Lalu Prasad was then the railway minister.
The central government imposed president's rule in Bihar in March 2005 and kept the state assembly in suspended animation for six months.
After the Bharatiya Janata Party and Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal-United challenged the president's rule, the Supreme Court quashed the government's decision.
