Nitish rubs salt into BJP wound; lures former MLC to JD(U)

Patna,(BiharTimes): As a part of another conscious move to embarrass the alliance partner, the BJP, the Janata Dal (United) on Tuesday lured Sanjay Jha, till recently its MLC, to the party fold. Incidentally, he crossed over to the JDU in the presence of the chief minister, Nitish Kumar.
This move of one of the party MLCs infuriated many state BJP leaders and they charged Nitish Kumar of deliberately insulting and humiliating the alliance partner.

But what is strange is that Jha told the mediapersons that he had done so after consulting top BJP leaders. He said that he had interacted and taken the consent of Arun Jaitley, Sushil Modi and Dharmendra Pradhan before taking a decision to join the JD (U).

Sanjay Jha considered close to leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha, Arun Jaitley . Besides, he has a very cordial relationship with the former Union minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy and deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi.

If what he is saying is true than it means that that something fishy is cooking up within the BJP. Many in Sangh Parivar has started fearing that some more BJP leaders may switch over to the Janata Dal (United).

Jha sees no wrong in crossing over to Janata Dal (United) and said the latter is an alliance partner and that he had not gone into some other political party. Whatever work was allotted earlier, it will be done in the same manner today, he said.

The former MLC, who was always considered as a person too close to chief minister Nitish Kumar, said that his respect for BJP would continue to remain the same. In the past he had served as a mediator between the two ruling parties.

The timing of this cross over is very significant. It came at the height of Janata Dal(United)-BJP row over the prime ministerial candidate. Only on Monday Nitish fired yet another salvo, this time on the RSS, whose mouthpiece, Organiser, has launched a massive attack on him.
