Political angle can not be ruled out in Ranvir Sena chief murder case: DGP

Patna,(BiharTimes): More than a month after the killing of Ranvir Sena supremo, Brahmeshwar Singh, the director general of police, Abhayanand, talks of deep conspiracy. However, he did not rule out the political angle too.

Talking to media persons here on Tuesday he said efforts are on by Special Investigation Team (SIT) to crack the case.

He gave the name of three accused arrested in the last one month. They are Ritesh alias Monu, Anil Pandey and Rahul Harshvardhan alias Sunny. Another accused Abhay Pandey is absconding.

They were part of the conspiracy to eliminate Singh and were close to the place of the murder, he said.
The DGP, who was heckled and manhandled by Sena supporters after the killing in Ara on June 1, said that it has been established through detailed records of mobile conversations of arrested persons that they were in constant touch with each other prior to the murder.
The SIT investigation had revealed that all the four accused, who have been charged under various Sections of Indian Penal Code and Arms Act, had earned Brahmeshwar Singh’s wrath for their illegal activities like extortion and use of force while he was in jail.
According to him SIT is on the lookout for Abhay, nephew of an incarcerated Hareram Pandey, and his properties have been confiscated to make him surrender to the police.
Though he said the political angle in the murder could not be ruled out yet he did not elaborate it.

It needs to be recalled that the name of notorious Janata Dal (United) MLA, Sunil Pandey, and his MLC brother Hulas Pandey, initially figured in the murder case.
The DGP admitted that the progress in investigations had hit a road block as the three arrested refused to go through narco and polygraph tests.
