‘Reprimanded’ JD(U) spokesman fires salvo again, this time against Advani

Patna,(BiharTimes): Throwing all talks of cease fire to wind the Janata Dal (United) on Monday once again used the same national spokesman, Shivanand Tiwari, to target none else but the BJP patriarch, Lal Krishna Advani, for praising Narendra Modi.

Talking to newsmen in New Delhi on Monday he said Advani is making a futile effort to prove Gujarat chief minister innocent.

Commenting on Advani’s blog in which he accused the media of indulging in vilification campaign against Modi Tiwary said Advani has presented Modi as an ideal who welcomed the then President A P J Abdul Kalam to Gujarat in the aftermath of the 2002 riots and accompanied him throughout his state tour.

The Janata Dal (United) leader said that by welcoming Kalam and following him like a shadow throughout his tour Modi killed two birds with one stone. He tried to show that he was innocent and also ensure that no one spoke a word against him.

He asked as to who would have dared to open his mouth before the President when the Gujarat Chief Minister was standing next to him. In his blog on Sunday Advani had posted that no political leader in India’s history has been as “systematically and viciously maligned” as the Gujarat Chief Minister.

What is strange is that when last month Tiwary criticised Narendra Modi a couple of days after Nitish Kumar did the same the party chief Sharad Yadav reprimanded him and called for cease fire between the two NDA constituents. But just a fortnight later the same spokesman has publicly made a scathing attack on Advani––a much bigger leader than Modi––with both Sharad and Nitish remaining silent.
