No objection if BJP takes some JD (U) leaders: Nitish

Patna,(BiharTimes): A row has sparked off following unseasonal change of loyalty by a senior state BJP leader, Sanjay Jha. It is none else but the state chief minister, Nitish Kumar, who told the BJP on Monday that the latter is welcome to take anyone who wants to leave his party.

His remarks followed the statement of the state BJP chief, Dr C P Thakur, that several Janata Dal (United) legislators and MPs are in touch and may defect to his party.

Nitish made it loud and clear that if somebody wants to go from his party, they, that is the BJP, can please take them. “I have absolutely no objection,” he said while talking to mediapersons after the Janata Durbar on Monday.

Normally horse-trading and poaching take place before and after Parliament and Assembly elections. Leaders from rival parties are usually lured. But the way Sanjay Jha switched over from the BJP to JD(U) raised alarm in political circle. Questions are being raised as to how this can happen between two friendly parties who are running government in the state together.
