Cong questions law and order in Bihar, BJP seeks CBI probe

Patna,(BiharTimes): Even as Congress on Friday said that killing of Brahmeshwar Singh puts a question mark over the law and order situation in Bihar the state BJP has adopted the line of the RJD and LJP. It has demanded a CBI probe into the killing of the leader of Ranvir Sena.

The Congress on its part has asked all responsible citizens and political parties to work together to ensure that the incident does not take an ugly turn and becomes a caste conflict.

Talking to the newsmen in New Delhi CWC member Dr Shakeel Ahmed said that no one should play politics over the incident. He said there are no two opinions that such incidents put a question mark on the law and order situation in the state.

On the other hand the state BJP chief, Dr C P Thakur sought CBI probe into the killing of Brahmeshwar Singh. BJP leader from Jharkhand, Saryu Rai, also demanded a similar probe. Both Lalu Yadav and Ram Vilas Paswan have made a similar demand.

Dr Thakur refused to single out any particular group or party for the crime and said that let the investigative agency probe the matter. However, his demand for the CBI probe came as a surprise as the BJP has repeatedly said that it has no faith in it. The party’s national president, Nitin Gadkari, has dubbed it several times as the Congress Bureau of Investigation.

On the other hand the Janata Dal (United) spokesman, Shivanand Tiwary, sees a conspiracy in the killing of the leader of Ranvir Sena. Both he and Dr Thakur appealed to the people to maintain calm.

Meanwhile, Brahmeshwar Singh’s son announced that his father would be cremated at Bansghat in Patna on Saturday. The post mortem of his body has already been done.
