SBI cashier killed by dacoits in Patna’s Patliputra Colony branch

 

Patna,(BiharTimes): In a daring act three robbers stormed into the State Bank of India, Patliputra Colony Branch, and shot dead its casher, James, at about 2:00 PM on Thursday.

Eyewitnesses and bank employees said that it was because of the resistance by them that the robbers could not take away cash. While escaping they left two live bombs.

Surprisingly, the SBI’s branch is situated in Patna’s posh colony and is only about 300 metres from the Patliputra Colony Police Station. Yet no robbers could be arrested.

Offices of UNICEF, CARE and houses of ministers, ex-ministers, senior bureaucrats, ex-bureaucrats and other VIPs are not far away from the spot.

The cashier received serious injuries when he tried to resist. He was rushed to nearby Sahyog Hospital, where he died.

City SP Kim reached the spot. The police have pressed sniffer dog into service.

Earlier, there were reports that one of the robbers is hiding within the premises of the bank. But he could not be found.Later two unexploded bombs were recovered from within the bank premises.

The incident sent a shock wave in the Colony and is a pointer to the fact how bad law and order situation is in Bihar’s capital.
