Industrialist faces arrest for attack on journalist

Patna, March 3 (IANS) Police have issued an arrest warrant against an industrialist in Bihar's Araria district in connection with his alleged role in a murderous attack on a journalist.
The warrant has been issued against Forbesganj-based industrialist Mulchand Golcha over the attack on Pradip Sah, a reporter with a Hindi daily, police said Saturday.

Sah was shot in his face on July 18, 2007 in Farbesganj, leaving him seriously injured. But he survived.

Araria Superintendent of Police Shivdeep Lande said Golcha had been found guilty of hiring contract killers to eliminate Pradip, who had written against black marketing and smuggling near the India-Nepal border.

"The call details clearly show that the contract killers had been in constant touch with the industrialist both on the landline as well as his mobile phone," Lande said.
