Patna Museum undergoing face-lift as the world-class one to come up later

Patna,(BiharTimes): Though the state government has planned to build a world-class museum in Patna worth Rs 350 crore no stone is being left unturned to give a facelift to Patna Museum for the coming Centenary Celebrations.

A team of artists is busy making replicas of some of the most significant monuments of the state, such as Mauryan Pillar, Ashokan Pillar, Nalanda excavation site, Golghar, Barabar Caves, Buddha head etc inside the Museum premises.

According to Sanyasi Red, a famous artist of the state, the replicas will be ready for display by Bihar Diwas (March 22). He has been busy making the replicas with his team of five junior artists since February 3.

Said Jai Prakash Narayan Singh, additional director of the Patna Museum: Eco-garden will be developed on the Museum campus. No vehicle would be allowed to enter the Museum premises, so as to keep the environment eco-friendly. Besides, the present high-voltage lights in the Museum premises would be replaced with LED lights that are cooler and require less energy. Solar lights would be installed to reduce energy consumption.

Centenary Exhibition on the Museum campus that began on February 17, would conclude on March 31. The Exhibition is showcasing the contribution of Bihar to the culture, art, politics, traditions and literature of the country in the last hundred years.

The Exhibition would be taken to other districts’ museums of the state and also add some local flavour by giving information about the local history of that particular district. Begusarai would be the next place where it will be organized.
