Nitish denies gangrape of murdered woman

Patna,(BiharTimes): Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday denied the media report of alleged gangrape of a woman who was shot dead by dacoits on Sikandra-Sheikhpura road on March 25 evening in Lakhisarai district of Bihar.

Suman, who was from Dhanbad in Jharkhand, was on way to Jamui with her husband, child and other family members, when the dacoits waylaid the car and looted cash and ornaments worth Rs two lakh.

Making a statement in the Assembly after the issue was raised by the opposition parties, he said the woman was not gangraped during the loot of her belongings.

However, he did not make any announcement about the action against the police officials who delayed the lodging of FIR for abour 13-14 hours.
