JD(U) leader files complaint case against own party minister in Bihar

Patna,(BiharTimes): It is another example of helplessness of the ministers in the Nitish Kumar cabinet, especially those who crossed over from opposition parties to join Janata Dal (United) in the recent years.

The general secretary of Bihar Youth Janata Dal (United) Shambhu Saran Patel on Saturday filed a police complaint against Food Minister, Shyam Rajak, for allegedly threatening and indulging in a scuffle with him. Patel, who belongs to the caste of the chief minister, in his complaint, alleged that Rajak had threatened him, misbehaved with him and assaulted him when he went to the his official residence here for some work assigned to him by the state building construction department earlier in the day.

The police said that they have received the complaint and an investigation is on. Rajak, on his part, denied the charge.

Needless to say, the complaint case was filed against the minister on the last day of financial year and may have something to do with it. However, nothing can be said with certainty yet as the minister has not spoken much on the issue.

Rajak joined the Janata Dal (United) only in June 2009 and became minister in the Nitish Kumar government in Nov 2010. Earlier, he was considered as the strongest Lalu loyalist almost throughout the 15 years rule. Though he has become a miinster in Janata Dal (United) he is not very much at home in the party.
