CUB issue: Kapil Sibal willing to hold talks with Nitish

New Delhi (BiharTimes)Union Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal on Monday reiterated that he is willing to discuss the issue of the Central University of Bihar with the chief minister Nitish Kumar.

Taking part in a debate in Rajya Sabha he said he had rung up Nitish Kumarji, and requested him for an appointment. “I am willing to sit with him and decide as to what we should do about the Bihar Central University as well. We have no problems,” he added.

Earlier in the day a dozen NDA MPs sat on dharna outside Jantar Mantar to press for the early establishment of CUB in Motihari. On the other hand back in Gaya thousands of people formed human chain to protest against the Nitish Kumar government’s opposition for the CUB there.

The CUB issue has not only created a rift between the Centre and the state, but has seriously divided the BJP and Janata Dal (United) on two lines.
