JD(U) ditches BJP, dittoes UPA names for President

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Bharatiya Janata Party now appears to be isolated so far the Presidential election is concerned.

The Janata Dal (United) on Thursday almost dittoed the names of the UPA for the President.

Commenting on the names of Finance Minister, Pranab Mukherjee, and Vice President Hamid Ansari the party national general secretary, Shivanand Tiwary, said dono badhian naam hai (both are good candidates). Pranab Babu is an anubhavi (experienced) man while Hamid Ansari is a Vice President.

Earlier, the Janata Dal (United) had almost supported the name of Hamid Ansari, which was floated by RJD leader, Lalu Yadav on April 24.

The Janata Dal (United) stand came on the day when the BJP deputy leader in Upper House of Parliament, S S Ahluwalia, lost the Rajya Sabha election in Jharkhand.
