BJP blames Congress, RJD govts for economic chaos, backwardness of Bihar

Patna,(BiharTimes): The BJP on Sunday held the preceding Congress and RJD-led governments responsible for corruption and mis-governance in Bihar.
The economic resolution adopted on the second day of the two-day state executive meeting of the BJP blamed both the parties for pushing the state into “economic chaos and backwardness.”

The resolution said that it had been due to the “collective misrule” of the non-NDA parties, that Bihar was pushed to the bottom rung of indices like per capita income, literacy and poverty.

The state executive gave full credit to the NDA government in Bihar for economic turnaround and said that the “ever growing growth rate in double digits” speaks volumes about its achievement.

The resolution said that the per capita income rose to Rs 16,952 in 2011-12 from Rs 8,706 in 2005-06 and the annual plan size increased to Rs 28,000 crore in 2012-13 from Rs 4,376 crore in 2005-06. The state government formulated and implemented the agriculture road map in 2007 as a result of which foodgrain production has increased significantly and the state recorded paddy production of 67 million tonnes in 2011.

According to the resolution the state government implemented the Right to Service Act and the Lokayukta Act to bring transparency in public life and ensure redressal of people's grievances.
