Raghuvansh too demands four central universities in Bihar

Patna,(BiharTimes): Like state BJP chief, Dr C P Thakur, the RJD MP and former Union minister, Dr Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, too said that on the basis of area, Bihar holds claim for setting up of four central universities.He also lent his support for establishing a Central University at Patna.

The Rashtriya Janata Dal MP has requested Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to send a proposal for opening three Central Universities in Bihar. The proposal has also been made for starting a deemed University in the state. He also said that he was ready to take up the issue in Parliament.
Dr Singh has also sent a copy of reply of Minister of State for Human Resource Development (Higher Education) Dr Daggubati Purandeswari to Nitish Kumar in which it has been said that the Centre has not acted upon the issue since it has not yet received any proposal for granting Central University status to Patna University.
Dr Purandeswari also said that 300 acres of land has been identified at Panchanpur in Gaya district for setting up the Central University of Bihar in the state after holding due consultation with Defence Ministry officials. The land initially belonged to the Defence Ministry.
The Central University of Bihar is already functioning temporarily from Patna.Dr Singh has said that since the Centre has not received a proposal in this regard so far, a request letter should be sent immediately to it.
