Lalu accuses Nitish of misusing centrally-sponsored funds

Patna,(BiharTimes): RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav seems to have changed his strategy. Of late he has been raising some serious issues, for example, the rampant misuse of central fund by the state government. As he is drawing big crowd the media too is paying attention to him.

For example, while addressing Parivartan Yatra in Katihar on Wednesday he directly accused chief minister Nitish Kumar of cheating the people of the state by misusing the funds of various centrally-sponsored development schemes.

Raising the issue of deplorable condition of education in the state he said during the RJD rule children used to go to school with slates, now they go only with plates as there is no scope of teaching.

They either go for the centrally-sponsored Mid-day meal scheme or to take bicycle or uniform, he added.

He alleged that all the funds of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, a flagship project of the Union government aimed at achieving universal elementary education for children aged between six and 14, are being diverted by Nitish Kumar for self-promotion.

Lalu also highlighted the alleged mismanagement of other schemes. He also raised the issue of the removal of uterus of thousands of women in Bihar. Interestingly, many of those who figure in the list include men too. Thus the funds allotted for the National Health Insurance Scheme was grossly misappropriated and incorrect reports were submitted.

The RJD chief asked as to why after being in power for seven years not a needle factory has been set up in the state and not an extra unit of electricity produced.
