Bihar BJP cancels stir against FDI

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Bihar unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday postponed indefinitely its nation-wide agitation in the state against the UPA’s decision to allow Foreign Direct Investment in multi-brand retail sector and rampant corruption.

The decision was taken following the Monday evening Adalat Ghat bridge collapse in which a large number of people lost their lives.

According to state BJP President Dr C P Thakur the party's agitation in Patna scheduled for November 21 and in rest of Bihar on November 22 was postponed indefinitely. The visit of BJP MP Prakash Javdekar to Patna on Wednesday stands cancelled.

However, he said the party’s agitation programme would go as per schedule in other parts of the country.
