Mutilated body of missing BIT Mesra student found

Patna,(BiharTimes): The mutilated body of Dipak Choudhury, an M Tech student of BIT Mesra, was found near a roadside ditch at village Majhuwa under Sarsi police station in Purnea district on Thursday. He was missing from Saharsa since last Sunday.

According to reports the body was identified by uncle, Gajendra Choudhury and cousin Abhishek, after they arrived at Sarsi on Thursday evening. There were marks of severe head injuries, Sarsi SHO said.

Dipak had come to his native village Sarahi in Saharsa district during Chhath and he went missing from the railway station premises on Sunday last.

He, along with his cousin Abhishek, had gone to the Railway Mail Service (RMS ) at Saharsa station to send a letter by registered post. As there was a huge rush at the RMS counter, he asked his cousin to proceed to their village Sarahi to take the kharna prasad, telling him he would join him soon.

Reports quoting police sources said that at the registry counter, he incidentally came across another relative Ranjit, a resident of Saraswati Nagar. Though Ranjit invited him to come along with him, Dipak politely refused saying he had to return to his village soon. That was the last time he was seen.

SP Saharsa said no ransom call was received. He did not rule out the strong possibility of some kind of personal animosity.

Dipak had passed B Tech from an engineering college in Chennai. He took admission in M Tech at BIT, Mesra, Ranchi.

The SP said while pursuing his studies, he also worked as a counsellor for job aspirants as well as students seeking admission. He used to charge amount from the admission-seekers
