Unemployment level continues to remain high in Bihar

Patna,(BiharTimes): Notwithstanding tall claims of high growth rate and centrally-sponsored Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme the unemployment rate in Bihar is not declining fast.

With about 8.3% working hands unemployed in the state, which is 2.5 times more than the national average of unemployment for the last financial year, the figure is double than of neighbouring Jharkhand, which is 4.8 per cent.

According to the labour bureau’s latest report on annual employment and unemployment, 3.8% working hands were found to be unemployed nationally.
