Railways not neglecting Bihar: Minister of State

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Minister of State for Railway, K H Muniyappa, on Sunday denied that Bihar is being neglected after departure of Lalu Prasad from Railway ministry in 2009.
Talking to newsmen after a two-day visit to Bihar he said the pending projects in the state would be completed on time at a cost of Rs 40,000 crore in the 12th Five Year Plan period.

Most of these projects were launched during the tenure of Lalu Yadav as the Railway Minister in UPA-I (2004-09).

He said the rail wheel factory in Lalu’s parliamentary constituency of Saran, is ready for inauguration. Similarly, rail projects in Sonepur, Harnaut, Samastipur and Patliputra station in Patna are also ready to start functioning.

He said work on railway bridges in Patna and Munger would be completed through allocation of appropriate fund.

The minister visited several places in the state and took stock of the railway projects going on in Bihar.
