Lalu flays Nitish for changing stand on support

Patna,(BiharTimes): Commenting on chief minister Nitish Kumar’s statement that he would support any party to form government after next general elections if it gives special status to Bihar the Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad said that he has been changing colour like a ‘chameleon’ on the issue.

Talking to reporters in Patna he said Nitish’s statement is nothing more than rajnitik shagufa (a political stunt) to stay in limelight. If he has been so consistent on the special status issue, then why did he not pursue it to logical conclusion when a similar demand was made by the then Rabri Devi government.

The RJD supremo reiterated that when Nitish was the Union minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government he, as the convenor of a committee set up by the then NDA government to look into such a demand made by the RJD government following bifurcation of Bihar, had summarily rejected special status demand.

Nitish had then said that there was no need for special status to post-bifurcation Bihar and that the special package was sufficient but. Now he has changed his stand and was himself pressing for similar demand, the RJD chief recalled.

Another RJD leader and MP Ram Kripal Yadav also flayed Nitish on the demand of special status and said that the latter was a confused person.
