Para-teachers disturb Nitish’s public meeting in Motihari

Patna,(BiharTimes): Seeking parity in salaries and allowances with regular teachers a large number of contractual para-teachers on Wednesday strongly protested before Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s public meeting at the Zila School Maidan in Motihari, the headquarters of East Champaran district.

Nitish, who was on Adhikar Yatra told them that nothing would come out of slogan shouting as he has set out on a bigger mission to get special category status for Bihar.

With posters and placards in hands the contractual primary school teachers shouted slogans against the Nitish government as the chief minister sat on the dais. The music and ‘talimi markaz’ teachers, also recruited on contract basis, took part in the agitation.

Some protestors tried to disturb the meeting by throwing chairs.

Alleging opposition role in the disturbance the chief minister said those people on whose instigation you are agitating may later dump you on the streets.

Nitish also reminded them that he had come here to take part in his party’s function, and it was not an official programme.

Reports said that the contractual primary school teachers have been protesting for last two days under the banner of Nagar Panchayat Prarambhik Shikshak Sangh in anticipation of being heard by the Chief Minister during his visit.
