Bihar BJP leaders meet Rajnath Singh, gear up for final battle with JD(U)

Patna,(BiharTimes): A number of BJP leaders from Bihar, including senior ministers, met party’s national president, Rajnath Singh, in New Delhi on Monday and apprised him of the prevailing situation in Bihar.
The BJP leaders made it amply clear that they are prepared to fight till finish with the Janata Dal (United) on the issue of prime ministerial candidate.

Pro-Narendra Modi camp in the Bihar BJP is confident that the presence of Gujarat chief minister as the prime ministerial candidate would compensate the loss of break of alliance with Nitish Kumar in Bihar.

Among those who met Singh were former State unit chief and now national vice president, Dr C P Thakur, Health Minister Ashwani Choubey, his ministerial colleagues, Giriraj Singh and Chandramohan Rai.

Dr Thakur later told the media that “we have been raising our voice, now it is up to the central leadership to take stand.”

The state’s animal husbandry and fisheries minister Giriraj Singh said that the party is prepared for ‘aar paar ki ladai’.

“We have told our party president about all the issues. He has promised us that he will take an appropriate decision at an appropriate time,” the minister said.

Meanwhile, the national spokeswoman of BJP Meenakshi Lekhi on Monday made a very strong statement against Nitish Kumar’s speech on the second day of national executive in New Delhi on Sunday. She made it clear that nobody needs to give certificate and it is up to the party to take decision in this regard.

Earlier, another BJP spokeswoman Nirmala Sitharaman rejected all the “unfounded inferences” against Narendra Modi and urged JD(U) to refrain from “concentrating its energies” on criticising BJP Chief Ministers.

She said that the BJP expected allies to keep their main focus on removing “non-performing and corrupt UPA led government”.

It is learnt that leaders from Bihar told the BJP President that the party was not growing in Bihar due to its alliance with the JD(U) and conveyed their opposition to continuance of ties with it. They are of the view that the continuation of alliance would harm the NDA as the popularity graph of Nitish Kumar has gone down considerably in the last couple of years.
