Nitish equates Giriraj with Gandhiji, but for rearing goats

Patna,(BiharTimes): Though they are locked in no-holds-barred war of words against each other yet when they are compelled to share a dais they speak in a different tone.

Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday showered praise on his animal husbandry and fisheries department minister Giriraj Singh and equated him with Gandhiji.

Speaking at the Foundation Day function of Comfed on Tuesday he said Girirajji rears goats at his residence and offer his guests with tea made of goat milk. Gandhiji, too reared goats and used goat milk as it is very easy to digest.

Stating that the animal husbandry minister propagates the virtue of rearing goats to the people Nitish said he would request the farmers and even Comfed, to promote goat rearing.

The chief minister said till now he knew that drumsticks (sehjan) is a very good vegetable but has come to know from Girirajji that it can also be used as a great green fodder.

Earlier, while speaking on the occasion Giriraj said the year 2013 would be celebrated as the “Hara Chara Ka Varsh” (Green Fodder Year). He said drumstick trees would be planted on largescale as it is one of the best green fodders available in abundance. He also called upon the farmers to produce more green fodder as it would help to realize the dream of milk production at zero percentage expenditure. Green fodder also helps to boost milk production.

Deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi was also present on the occasion.

There is no denying the fact that Giriraj Singh is among the bitterest critics of Nitish Kumar and strongly supports the candidature of Narendra Modi as the prime ministerial candidate of the country.
