Independent woman MLA pays back JD(U) in its own coin, creates scene at CM’s function

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Independent woman MLA of Dehri-on-Sone, Jyoti Rashmee, did what none of the BJP leaders could do.

When the chief minister, his deputy Sushil Kumar Modi and animal husbandry minister, Giriraj Singh, were present on the dais on the occasion of the inauguration of cheese plant in Dehri-on-Sone in Rohtas district she rushed to the dais to publicly criticized the district administration as well as the state government for not inviting her notwithstanding the fact that she is the local MLA. She did not stop there, but condemned the state government’s excise policy and also raised the issue of sub-human condition in which the people of her constituency are forced to live.

Immediately after reaching the dais she screamed: “This government talks of empowerment of women but forgot to formally invite me to the function. It did not give me an opportunity to speak though I represent the Dehri constituency in the Assembly.”

It was an embarrassing moment for the chief minister. What is more there was no women constable to remove her from the dais. Senior administrative officers and security personnel were to intervened, but not before she managed to say what she wanted.

“This is an official function in the area of which I am a representative. According to protocol, I should have been invited to it,” she went on.

Reports said that she took to the mike just after the animal husbandry and fishery minister, Giriraj Singh, finished his speech and Modi was invited to address the meeting. Hardly had he started speaking when the woman legislator interrupted him.

She did not hesitate to address the chief minister directly and said she had been ignored because she was a woman.

Later, while talking to the media she questioned the presence of controversial JD(U) MLC Hulas Pandey (brother of don-turn-ruling party legislator Sunil Pandey), Jay Kumar Singh, Rajeshwar Raj and Shyam Bihari Ram on the dais.

She raised the issue of inadequate power supply to the residents of her constituency in the Assembly. “The chief minister tries to silence me even in the Asembly,” she added.

She strongly criticised the state government for issuing licence to open liquor shops everywhere in the state and making hollow promises to befool the electorate.

Meanwhile, Dehri sub-divisional officer (SDO) Mohammed Shaheed said the MLA was invited to attend the function over phone.

Nitish inaugurated the dairy plant and laid the foundation stone for a milk powder plant. He claimed that Bihar would become self-reliant in production of cheese after the inauguration of the new milk plant at here. He also appreciated the performance of Bihar State Milk Co-operative Federation Limited (Comfed).

Interestingly, once again chief minister was invited at the function of the department headed by a BJP minister, Giriraj Singh. A couple of days back BJP ministers were not invited in a function organized by the agriculture department headed by a JD(U) minister, Narendra Singh.

Art culture and youth affairs minister Sukhada Pandey of the BJP was also present on the occasion.
Shashi Shekhar, the principal secretary of the animal and fish resources department, and Harjot Kaur, the managing director of Bihar State Milk Co-operative Federation Limited, were also present.
