While in the state Assembly they raised the issue of Bodh Gaya blasts and demanded debate on it in the Legislative Council the opposition members created ruckus after the leader of opposition Sushil Kumar Modi raised the issue of drought like situation in the state and held the government responsible for inaction.

The presiding officers of both the Houses––the Speaker and Chairman of the Upper House––were forced to adjourned the House till lunch recess.

Opposition members in general and BJP in particular sought resignation of the Chief Minister as the state administration had collapsed.

In the Assembly, the BJP MLAs trooped into the well of the House over Bodh Gaya blasts even before Speaker Uday Narayan Chaudhary announced beginning of day’s proceedings. They called for suspension of all business to take up adjournment notice given by party member and former minister Prem Kumar, who is also Gaya Town MLA, and Shyamdeo Paswan over the explosions.

The leader of Opposition, Nand Kishore Yadav, urged the Chair to urgently take up the adjournment notice and suspend all other business as the matter of terror attack on famous Buddhist shrine was concerned with the prestige of the state within the nation and in the world.

The Speaker assured the agitating BJP members that the Chair would hear them in accordance with the rules of the House.

While BJP members continued to agitate in the well of the House and raised slogans against the CM demanding his resignation, senior minister Vijay Chaudhary criticised the Opposition leader for unruly behavior of his party members.

On the other hand members of Rashtriya Janata Dal also stormed into the well of the House on the alleged highhandedness of Kaimur District Magistrate towards party workers.

The Speaker adjourned the House till 2:00 pm when all efforts failed to persuade them.

In the Council the leader of Opposition accused the state government for its utter failure in dealing with the drought-like situation.
