Patna HC seeks explanation from officials on liquor shops in residential areas

Patna,(BiharTimes): A division bench of Justice Navin Sinha and Justice Vikash Jain of the Patna high court on Thursday directed the assistant excise commissioner, district magistrate and senior SP, Patna, to appear before the court to explain how the liquor shops were being allowed to run in residential areas of Patna.
Hearing a PIL of Sudama Devi, which challenged that a liquor shop was opened in Gaighat area under Patna City subdivision in violation of the provisions of Bihar Excise Act the court remarked that liquor shops were also allowed in the residential areas on Boring Road and Bailey Road through which college girls pass.
