Former Union minister passes away

Patna,(BiharTimes): Former Union Minister and senior Congress leader from Bihar, Devendra Prasad Yadav (not to confuse with the former Janata Dal minister with the same name), died at a hospital in New Delhi on Sunday night due to a heart ailment. He was 76 and is survived by four daughters and two sons.
Reports from the national capital said that he was admitted to a city hospital on June 22 after he suffered some cardiac problems.
He represented Munger three-time in Parliament and had served as Minister of State for Education between 1971 and 1977 in Indira Gandhi’s cabinet.
He was also a member of the Congress Working Committee during the tenure of Rajiv Gandhi. Yadav was a member of the AICC committee on economic policy and earlier served as the chairman of IFFCO as well as of Central School Organisation.
