Martyrs matter: Another Bihar minister opens his big mouth

Patna,(BiharTimes): There is no impact of JD(U) chief Sharad Yadav’s show cause notices to two ministers in the Nitish cabinet as yet another minister has opened his big mouth on the issue of paying homage to soldiers killed in Poonch last Tuesday (August 6).

Bihar’s minister for Science and Technology, Gautam Singh, who was made hostage by villagers of martyr, Premnath Singh, a couple of days back, said on Monday that he did not think it mattered that he did not attend his funeral.

Kya fark padta hai (What difference does it make)? was how the minister, himself an ex-serviceman reacted.

When the reporters asked him in Patna on Monday as to why he did not attend funeral of sepoy Premnath Singh he said he did not visit the families immediately after getting information about the death of the jawans because on Tuesday night he had to go to New Delhi by train for the treatment of his brother in AIIMS. He said that he was very much in Chapra on Tuesday morning when the news of the killing came.

However, he said he went immediately to Samhauta, the native village of the solider in his Assembly constituency, Manjhi, on his return from Delhi on Friday.

Though the soldiers were killed early on Tuesday morning their bodies were brought to Patna via New Delhi on Wednesday night.

The minister claimed that he was related to Sepoy Premnath Singh and added that after his return he also paid a visit to the family of another slain soldier Raghunandan Prasad, also a resident of Saran district.
