State BJP chief offers ‘formula’ for vacating ministerial bungalows

Patna,(BiharTimes): In a move to end the impasse over eviction of bungalows by the former BJP ministers the state party chief Mangal Pandey on Friday offered an advice to chief minister Nitish Kumar.
Talking to the media he asked Nitish to expand his cabinet and induct at least eight MLAs into his cabinet and in return his party’s legislators would vacate their ministerial bungalows and move into the flats of those very MLAs, who would be inducted into the cabinet.
Mangal Pandey’s formula came after the former BJP MLAs refused to vacate their bungalows.
The BJP had till June 16 eleven ministers in the Nitish cabinet. But since former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi and former road construction minister Nand Kishore Yadav have been made leaders of opposition in the legislative council and state assembly respectively they are entitled to bungalows. On the other hand former tourism minister Sunil Kumar Pintu already lives in an MLA flat he too had not been served any eviction notice.
If the bungalows are not vacated the building construction department would seek the help of Patna district administration to get it vacated.
Though the ministers are supposed to vacate their bungalow once they quit the cabinet the BJP is trying to play politics and create rift within the ruling JD(U). Its leaders are sure that once Nitish expands the cabinet his party would plunge into major crisis as there are many claimants for the post of ministers. Besides, there is already more than one candidates for the post of deputy chief minister.
