Patna,(BiharTimes): The state government on Monday transferred 27 IAS officials, including 13 district magistrates (DMs). This includes the district magistrates of Nawada, Saran, West Champaran and Khagaria where either communal or other types of violence took place or which witnessed tragedies. Incidentally, the district magistrate of Rohtas has not been transferred though a Mahadalit was killed on the occasion of hoisting of national flag on August 15. Similarly, the DM of Gaya has not been touched though a serial bomb blasts took place in Bodh Gaya on June 7 last.
According to a notification of General Administration Department along with the IAS officers, over three dozen officials of Bihar Administrative Service have also been shifted.
Besides, the district magistrates of Siwan, Katihar, Banka, East Champaran, Arwal, Aurangabad, Madhepura, Sheohar, and Sheikhpura were transferred.
Madhepura district magistrate Upendra Kumar has been made OSD, State Staff Selection Commission, while Siwan DM Gopal Meena will replace Kumar in Madhepura.
Sheohar DM Anil Kumar will join as special secretary, labour resources department, while director, panchayati raj, Kumar Vinod N Singh will replace Kumar in Sheohar.
Arwal DM Sanjay Kumar Singh has been made director, employment and training, while director, GPF, Kumar Jung Bahadur will replace Singh in Arwal. East Champaran DM Vinay Kumar has been made director, science and technology. The DM of West Champaran, Sridhar Chiribolu will replace Kumar in East Champaran.
Saran DM Abhijit Sinha has been shifted to Aurangabad in the same capacity while ICDS director Vandana Preyashi will replace Sinha in Saran. The revenue officer, Bihar State Housing Board, Lallanji, has been made new Nawada DM. Present Nawada DM Adesh Titarmare has been made CEO, Bihar state livelihood project (Jeevika). Titarmare will hold the additional charge of director, GPF.
Sheikhpura DM Sanjay Kumar Singh has been shifted to Khagaria in the same capacity. Banka DM Deepak Anand has been made director, panchayati raj, while DDC, Nalanda, Kartikey Dhanji Budhdhabhatti will replace Anand in Banka.
Muzaffarpur DDC Pranav Kumar has been made Sheikhpura DM. Samastipur DDC Saket Kumar will now join as the new Nalanda DDC.
Khagaria DM Saiyyad Parvez Alam has been made the new excise commissioner cum IG registration while OSD, State Staff Selection Commission, Prakash Kumar will be the new Katihar DM. Aurangabad DM Abhay K Singh will be the new DM of West Champaran. Katihar DM Birendra Prasad Yadav has been made additional secretary, general administration department.
The registrar, cooperative societies, Manish Kumar has been made revenue officer, Bihar State Housing Board, while excise commissioner Divesh Sehra has been made new Siwan DM.
Among the secretary-level changes, secretary, department of revenue and land reforms, Hukum Singh Meena will hold the additional charge of registrar, cooperative societies. Meena is also holding the additional charge of director, land records.
H R Srinivasan, who was waiting for posting, has been made special secretary, department of education.
Ashok Kumar Mallick, who was also waiting for posting, has been made MD, Bihar State Film Development Finance Corporation. Mallick will hold the additional charge of special secretary, department of art, culture and youth affairs.
