AMU students invite Nitish Kumar next month

Patna,(BiharTimes): Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar will be addressing students at Aligarh Muslim University early next month.
According to public relations officer of AMU, Rahat Abrar, the Bihar chief minister has in principle agreed to address students of AMU, and he has suggested September 7th or 8th as possible dates for the event.
However, he clarified that the invitation had been extended by a group of students and not by the vice chancellor. This could be because of the topic on which he has been asked to speak, that is, preservation of the minority character of AMU.
The issue of preserving the minority character of the Aligarh Muslim University is sub judice and is being looked into by the Supreme Court.
Therefore, senior teachers are of the view that there is no point in soliciting political support for the matter.
