Seven policemen killed in Bihar attack

 

Patna (BiharTimes): In yet another Maoist attack in Bihar’s Aurangabad district at least seven policemen were killed in a landmine blast on Tuesday evening. In a powerful bomb explosion the police jeep carrying patrolling team was blown up by suspected ultras.

“ Officer in charge of Tandwa police station Ajay Kumar was among the dead policemen. The police party, on patrol duty, was returning to Tandwa police station from Nabinagar when the blast took place near Uttri Kol Nahar” said police IG Sushil Khopde.

Earlier on Saturday at least three GRP Jawans were killed and two others got seriously wounded in an audacious daylight suspected Maoist attack on Sahebganj-Patna Inter-City Express near Jamalpur of Munger district.

The ultras had  also looted five rifles from the GRP jawans before.

The five jawans who were escorting this train belonged to the Bihar Miltary Police (BMP )’s 12th Unit.

In  another attack Naxals had killed three persons in an attack on Dhanbad- Patna express near Jamui  in last June

Recently, the joint intelligence committee of the union government accused Bihar Government of being soft on Maoist resulting 41 percent increased in causalities in comparison to previous year.
