Patna,(BiharTimes): The water resources minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary informed the state Asssembly on Thursday that the Patna district administration had registered a case against unknown girl students and teachers of Magadh Mahila College for allegedly violating the prohibitory orders, damaging public property and creating hindrance in official functioning during their march to the state Assembly on December 9 last.
He said that nearly 1,500 students owing allegiance to different student organizations had taken out a procession from Magadh Mahila College and reached R-Block on December 9.
When the magistrate on duty tried to convince them they made an attempt to break the cordon and enter the legislature complex. The police tried to close the door near R-Block, when the crowd became uncontrollable. After the brief scuffle the crowd movement was checked, he said.
The minister-in-charge said a delegation of students, including the president of Patna University Students’ Union, Ashish Kumar Sinha, later held talks with the chief secretary, Ashok Kumar Sinha and other officers.
The home portfolio is in fact held by chief minister Nitish Kumar, but Vijay Chaudhary often speaks on his behalf.
