Sting operation embarrasses candidate-short JD(U), BJP

Patna,(BiharTimes): The leadership of Janata Dal (United) and the Bharatiya Janata Party are contemplating action against their MPs after they were caught on camera willing to write recommendation letters for a fictitious foreign oil company at a price.
Three of the MPs of Janata Dal (United) caught in a sting operation done by cobrapost.com are Vishwamohan Kumar (from Supaul), Maheshwar Hazari (from Samastipur) and Bhudev Choudhary (from Jamui). One of the three BJP MPs, whose name figured is, Hari Manjhi from Bihar. He represents Gaya Lok Sabha seat.

The chief minister, Nitish Kumar, said that the MPs would be asked for an explanation. The party would take further action according to the findings. He stressed it was necessary to give the MPs a chance to explain.

The leader of opposition in the state Assembly, Nand Kishore Yadav, said the party has taken the matter very seriously and if the MPs are found guilty, it would surely take action against them.

The problem with both the former allies is that after the split they are short of winnable candidates to be fielded for the 2014 Lok Sabha election. Incidentally, one BJP and one JD(U) MPs come from SC reserved seats. Replacement for them is not all too easy.
The RJD has got an opportunity to lash out at both the BJP and JD(U).
Leader of RJD in the state Assembly Abdul Bari Siddiqui demanded a CBI probe into the matter. He said that the sting operation had exposed how honest BJP and JD(U) leaders are.

He said ironically MPs of both the parties, who shared power for seven and a half years in the state are now getting caught in the corruption charges. Both parties must stop preaching others on corruption as their leaders are most corrupt.
