Labourers accuse JD(U) leader for not paying money to attend Sankalp rally

Patna,(BiharTimes): Hundreds of labourers accused a local Janata Dal (United) leader of Muzaffarpur, Asghar Ansari, for cheating them and not paying them the amount promised to attend the Sankalp rally of the party in the town on Saturday.

As the Janata Dal (United) leaders feared that the Sankalp rally would not be a big hit they devised various methods to mobilize the crowd. Many people were hired to attend it and even promised money.
If the allegations levelled by many daily-wage earners are to be believed they were asked to attend the rally on the promise that the male workers would be paid Rs 300 and female ones Rs 200. But they were not paid a single penny for this work. They said that they were in all 600 in number who were asked by Asghar to come.
They complained that they attended the rally by sacrificing their day’s earning yet they were not paid by Asghar Ansari.
But political observers are of the view that there may be more Asghar Ansaris in the party as the JD(U) did everything to bring the crowd. The party leadership is worried that unlike in the past rallies and yatras of the chief minister the Sankalp rallies––Muzaffarpur’s was the third in the series of a dozen––is not attracting big crowd.
