BJP chalks out strategy to convert ‘Narendra Modi wave’ into votes


Patna,(BiharTimes): With a view to converting, what it called the Narendra Modi wave into votes, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday chalked out a plan at the meeting of the party’s in charges of the 40 Lok Sabha and 243 state Assembly constituencies.

Though party’s former national president, Nitin Gadkari, was also supposed to attend the meeting, which was held at the official residence of former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi, he could not reach Patna due to poor visibility at the airport.

The party would go to election projecting itself as a victim of Nitish Kumar’s highhandedness.

The state unit would strive for symbolic appropriation of several icons, such as former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, former Union home minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and many others, especially those belonging to Mahadalit and Extremely Backward Castes.

According to the state unit president Mangal Pandey the birth anniversary of Vajpayee would be celebrated on December 25 and that of Socialist veteran, Karpoori Thakur, from January 4 to 21, climaxing in a mega function in Patna on January 22.

He said they would be followed by the birth anniversary celebration of Sant Ravidas from January 27 to February 12, and a big related function at Shri Krishna Memorial Hall in Patna two days later.

Apart from this, the death anniversary of martyr of national freedom struggle, Jubba Sahni would be observed over a fortnight, beginning February 22.

The leader of opposition in the state Assembly, Nand Kishore Yadav, while addressing the meeting, said that the rise of the the party’s prime ministerial, candidate Narendra Modi had definitely given a huge advantage to the party.

He said the rank and file of the party should make a sincere effort to fulfil the Mission 2014 of forming the government at the Centre.
