No question of joining hands with Congress, JD(U): CPI ML

Patna,(BiharTimes): The CPI ML on Tuesday dismissed all talks of joining hands with the Congress and said it would be contesting 20 Lok Sabha seats on its own. At the same time it rejected possibility of any tie up with JD(U).

Talks to reporters CPI-ML general secretary, Dipankar Bhattarchayra, said his party can not think of being part of any alliance directly or indirectly with anybody who has relationship with Congress.
told reporters here.

He said since RJD is joining the Congress-led alliance there was no question of any alliance with it or joining a front of secular parties led by it for 2014 Lok Sabha election.

On the pointed question whether his party could think of forging ties with RJD and LJP if their alliance with Congress did not materialise, he said though there is no chance of it, his party may think if it so happens.

It needs to be recalled that only the other day Lalu Prasad praised Dipankar Bhattacharya for standing by him while he was sent to jail in a fodder scam case.

He said that a meeting of his party state executive committee had decided to contest 20 seats in Bihar in 2014. On the rest 20 seats, it would support candidates of other Left parties as part of efforts to forge a Left unity.

He added that efforts would be made to field a common Left candidate at Patna Lok Sabha seat.

Dipankar, however, ruled out any possibility of alliance with JD(U). “The question does not arise as the Nitish Kumar government has failed to stand on promises made to the people.
