Sankalp rally in Darbhanga marred by clashes, slogans against Nitish

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Sankalp rally of the Janata Dal (United) at Darbhanga was on Saturday disrupted by the party workers, dissidents as well as Kisan Salahkars even as the chief minister Nitish Kumar, party’s national and state presidents, Sharad Yadav and Bashisth Narayan Singh respectively remained mute spectators.
Only last week another public meeting of Nitish Kumar was disrupted at Begusarai and even a chappal was thrown at him.
In Darbhanga police had a tough time in bringing the situation to normalcy. Chairs were thrown and barricades were smashed as the workers broke into the area cordoned off for the Press. There was total mismanagement and chaos. When some mediapersons tried to stop them the workers misbehaved with them,
As if that was not enough some other party workers strongly protested against the presence of unwanted elements in the meeting and raised slogans against them. These dissidents were opposed to the entry of some people into the party as it is damaging its reputation.
At the same time Kisan Salahkars, who gathered at the venue, also raised slogans against the chief minister and demanded that their services be r
egularized.
Incidentally, the Sankalp rally only drew the party workers and hardly any general public attened it. There was lack of enthusiaism.
Later Nitish blamed the Rashtriya Janata Dal responsible for the incident. He once again accused Congress party for putting the special category status to the backburner. He also flayed the Bharatiya Janata Party in the rally.
