Brinda flays Nitish government for not implementing Bandyopadhyay Commission repor

Patna,(BiharTimes): CPM politburo member Brinda Karat on Friday came down heavily on the Nitish Kumar government for what she said dumping the recommendations of the Bandyopadhyay Commission report.

Talking to newsmen she questioned the silence of the opposition parties on this count. She accused the state government of playing into the hands of the land mafia and feudal forces as the Commission had recommended the registration of sharecroppers and other rights to the landless sharecroppers.

Brinda accused the mafia of grabbing the Bhoodan land, which was given to landless people. She urged the state government to take steps to ensure the possession of the land to the allottee.

She said Left parties have been of the view that both APL and BPL families should be given 35 kg of foodgrains at the rate of Rs two per kg. The party has been collecting the signature of five crore people across the country to put pressure on the UPA government for ensuring food security for all.
