Four ADGs promoted to DG rank

Patna,(BiharTimes): The state government on Monday promoted four IPS officers (two each of 1979 and 1980 batch) to director general (DG) rank.
However, promotions of the 1995 and 1998 batch IPS officers could not take place, as Union ministry of home affairs (MHA) had not cleared their names. Two other senior IPS officers were transferred.

The 1979 batch IPS officer, Krishna Chowdhary, who is director of Bihar Police Academy, has been promoted and made DG (Training). The post had been lying vacant after the retirement of V Narayanan. Another 1979 batch officer, ADG (CID) A S Nimbran has been elevated and made DG-cum-Commandant General of Homeguards. This post was also lying vacant since June last year after the retirement of Manoje Nath.

ADG Sunit Kumar, (1980) who is the chairman of State Constable Recruitment Board, has been elevated and given additional charge of DG, Bihar Police Academy. His batchmate P K Thakur (ADG, vigilance bureau) has been promoted to the rank of DG in the same department.

Meanwhile, ADG (BMP) A K Upadhyay has been made ADG (CID) with the additional charge of BMP. ADG (law and order) S K Bharadwaj will have the additional charge of Crime Record Bureau.
