New Delhi, Feb 11 (IANS) The NHRC Monday asked Bihar's director general of police to submit a report on the alleged death of a boy who was beaten by his teacher.
The 12-year-old boy was allegedly beaten to death by his teacher in East Champaran district in the state.
 | "The director general of police has been given two weeks' time to submit a detailed report. The incident occurred Feb 2," said an official of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).
According to media reports, the teacher of a residential school thrashed the boy severely after his bicycle was damaged by a cricket ball hit by the boy.

He was rushed to a hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

The victim's mother claimed that he often complained of being beaten up by teachers on one pretext or the other.

The media reports claim that though an FIR had been lodged against the owner of the school and his son, the accused teacher was yet to be identified.
